Yard House is joining the restaurant mix at Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus.
A spokesperson for the busy shopping center said the Darden Restaurants-owned casual dining brand expects to open sometime next year.
Yard House was founded 30 years ago in California. The restaurant chain is known for an extensive draft beer selection with more than 100 beers on tap. It also offers a diverse menu of scratch-made contemporary American dishes.
Orlando, Fla.-headquartered Darden acquired the chain for $585 million 2012. The purchase came as part of an effort to expand the buyers’ lineup into the craft beer-focused casual dining market. Since then, Yard House’s footprint has grown from about 40 locations to 90 spots nationwide.
Within New Jersey, Yard House also has locations at Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, American Dream in East Rutherford and Moorestown Mall in Moorestown.
GSP is already home to three other Darden brands: high-end steakhouse The Capital Grille, upscale chain Seasons 52 and premium seafood and steak eatery Eddie V’s Prime Seafood.
Darden’s portfolio also includes Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse and Ruth’s Chris Steak House.
At GSP, other full-service restaurants include California Pizza Kitchen, Chili’s, Fogo De Chao, Grand Lux Café, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, The Rotunda at Neiman Marcus and Bazille at Nordstrom.
