Fast-growing franchise Pickleball Kingdom will bring an indoor pickleball facility to the Woodbridge area. 

Touted as “the world’s largest indoor pickleball entity,” Pickleball Kingdom connected with two technology industry experts and enthusiasts of the sport to unveil the new center, announced March 23. 

Identified as Vidya R. and Vicky K., the franchisees are currently scouting a location for the Woodbridge facility. 

Like other Pickleball centers, it will feature: 

• Climate-controlled indoor courts 
• Lounge areas 
• Professional coaching and clinics 
• Youth development programs 
• Competitive leagues and tournaments 

“New Jersey has proven to be a tremendous home for Pickleball Kingdom,” founder and CEO Ace Rodrigues said in a statement. “Vidya and Vicky embody everything we look for in a franchise partner, and we can’t wait to see the community they build as we continue to open more clubs across the state.” 

The franchisees bring more than 40 years of combined IT experience to their new venture, according to Pickleball Kingdom. They noted the benefits of creating a new community hub as well as a place to play the sport year-round.

Join the club

The Woodbridge location will join Pickleball Kingdom’s additional clubs in New Jersey: 

• Hamilton now open – the first of 20 centers led by entrepreneur Samrat “Sam” Sood
• Hillsborough now open
• Marlboro Township TBA – led by Ved Mishra
• Old Bridge TBA – operated by PICKLEPLEX, led by franchisee Sri Adimulam and his partners from Central Jersey
• South Brunswick TBA
• Tinton Falls now open – also led by Mishra
• Toms River TBA 
• Watchung now open – led by Todd and Chana Baron

There are now more than 18,000 pickleball courts nationwide, according to the USA Pickleball court location database.

Within New Jersey, places to play the sport have been on the rise in the past few years. New – or soon to open – locations include:

• A 15,000-square-foot PB (973) center at a ShopRite-anchored retail center in Morris County
• Jersey Pickleball Club at Bell Works Holmdel
• PickleRage, Jersey City’s first indoor pickleball facility
• The Picklr in East Brunswick, the third Garden State location for the franchise
