Stevens & Lee has added the founder of a Fairfield-based boutique corporate and commercial transactional firm and two of his associates to its Elmwood Park office.
In a July 10 press release, Stevens & Lee announced the arrival of Brian Satz as a shareholder, as well as associates Ariel Kirshenbaum and Nathania Lim from Satz Law Group LLC.
Satz, who launched his firm in 2009, “brings a valuable combination of transactional capability and a client-first mindset that complements our approach to client service,” commented Stevens & Lee President and CEO William Thornton Jr.
“We’re excited to have the Satz team join our vibrant and growing Bergen office and look forward to the many synergies our work together will bring,” he added.
As part of his practice, Satz represents startup and middle-market companies in merger and acquisition transactions, joint ventures and equity and debt financing transactions. He also represents high-net-worth individuals, private equity funds, and other investors in connection with their investments and other transactional matters.
Additionally, Satz serves as outside general counsel to many of his clients.
A full-service law firm, Stevens & Lee has more than 200 lawyers and 16 offices in the Northeast. Its local footprint consists of Elmwood Park and Princeton.
Stevens & Lee boasts a significant corporate group and transaction-supporting practices including tax, intellectual property, executive compensation and employee benefits, labor and employment, real estate and litigation, among others.
The team from Satz joins the firm’s corporate, finance and capital markets department, which recently expanded by nine lawyers through the firm’s merger with Providence, RI-headquartered Duffy & Sweeney.
