Tech school takes top honors

High Technology High School is the best public high school in the state, the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners announced recently.

The distinction was bestowed upon the pre-engineering career academy, a part of the Monmouth County Vocational School District, by Niche.com, which also placed the school in the top 10 nationwide, according to Commissioner Director Thomas Arnone.

“High Technology has won multiple awards and distinctions, and this is a credit to the administration, faculty, staff, parents and most importantly, the students who put in countless hours of studying, coursework and extracurricular activities,” said Commissioner Lillian Burry, liaison to the MCVSD.

According to Niche.com, High Tech has 295 students in grades 9 – 12 with a student-teacher ratio of 12 to 1.

In addition to High Tech, three other MCVSD schools were recognized in the rankings: Biotechnology High School at No. 4, the Academy of Allied Health & Sciences at No. 14, and the Marine Academy of Science and Technology at No. 19.
