With 689 Certified Public Accountants in state, Ernst & Young LLP holds first position on the latest NJBIZ list of top accounting firms, based on the number of CPAs in New Jersey. The global company, which established operations in 1890, maintains offices in Secaucus, Edison and Hoboken. 

Deloitte LLP and its subsidiaries rank second with 457 CPAs in the Garden State. Founded in 1895, Deloitte operates local offices in Morristown, Princeton and Jersey City. 

KPMG LLP claims third place with 294 CPAs in New Jersey. Jeffrey Knight leads the firm’s practice in Short Hills. 

Withum occupies the fourth position with 288 CPAs working in Princeton, Whippany, East Brunswick, Saddle Brook and Red Bank. 

Rounding out the top five firms among the 50 included on the ranking is EisnerAmper, with 215 CPAs in Iselin, Princeton, Mount Laurel and Woodcliff Lake.
