  • The Sharing Network Foundation recently announced the election of its 2024-2025 board officers. The group will lead strategic efforts in fundraising and resource development to support NJ Sharing Network, the federally designated nonprofit responsible for the recovery of donated organs and tissue in the Garden State. The board is comprised of a diverse group of individuals from both public and private sectors, many of whom have been touched by organ and tissue donation, including donor families and transplant recipients.   • Inserra Supermarkets ShopRite of Wayne associates were honored May 10 with a special edition Cheerios Box, featuring team member James Steed, in recognition of their outstanding fundraising efforts for local food banks. This year, the store raised $5,800 during the annual ShopRite Partners in Caring Cheerios Contest, sponsored in partnership with General Mills. Inserra Family members and the store team also presented a check for $2,500 to Wayne Interfaith Food Bank to support the community-based food bank.   • In May, longtime supporter of the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, the Bill Bottino Cancer Foundation, donated $45,000 to the Cancer Center’s Patient Assistance Fund at Jefferson Health in New Jersey. In 2023, dozens of cancer patients who needed help with rent, utilities or transportation received financial assistance from this fund, allowing them to continue focusing on their treatment and care.   • Dr. Jaclyn Jankowski, center, an orthopedic surgeon with RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group who is on staff at Clara Mass Medical Center, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and Jersey City Medical Center, received the Arthritis Foundation of New Jersey’s 2024 Orthopedist of the Year award at its Evening of Honors event May 2 at The Palace at Somerset Park.<br />

  • The Lakewood Chamber of Commerce hosted a free Finance and Networking Breakfast May 7 at Harrogate in Lakewood. The event introduced an eight-week credit repair workshop run by Ocean Inc. Guests learned about gaining smarter finance and business credit as well as repair through the program, Community Action Partnership, S.T.E.P.S., the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce and Wells Fargo—who all sponsored the event.
