A new destination is arriving for travelers using Atlantic City International Airport (ACY).
Officials announced June 11 nonstop service to Miami International Airport (MIA) operated by Spirit Airlines from ACY.
“Our team has been working closely with Spirit Airlines for several months to bring this new service to our travelers,” said Stephen Dougherty, executive director of the South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA).
Key things to know:
Officials say that this “strategic addition” aligns with rising demand for leisure travel and also connectivity to Florida’s Atlantic coast.
“Miami is a natural fit for ACY, and this new nonstop route will provide passengers with even more convenient options,” said Dougherty.
John Kirby, vice president of networking planning for Spirit, said the airline knows that many of its Atlantic City guests enjoy traveling to South Florida.
“And we’re excited to make it easier to visit Miami and enjoy the city’s beautiful beaches, unique culture and exciting nightlife,” said Kirby. “Our new nonstop serve to Miami offers ACY travelers another option to reach Florida alongside our nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, and Palm Beach.”
Dougherty added, “We’re thrilled to welcome the expansion and look forward to celebrating with Spirit and the public as launch day approaches.”
