A new destination is arriving for travelers using Atlantic City International Airport (ACY).

Officials announced June 11 nonstop service to Miami International Airport (MIA) operated by from ACY.

“Our team has been working closely with Spirit Airlines for several months to bring this new service to our travelers,” said Stephen Dougherty, executive director of the (SJTA).

Key things to know:

  • New, seasonal route will operate Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, offering four weekly flights beginning Aug. 13

  • Follows recent upgrades to Spirit’s Free Spirit loyalty program as well as introduction of its extra-legroom seating option

Officials say that this “strategic addition” aligns with rising demand for leisure and also connectivity to Florida’s Atlantic coast.

“Miami is a natural fit for ACY, and this new nonstop route will provide passengers with even more convenient options,” said Dougherty.

John Kirby, vice president of networking planning for Spirit, said the airline knows that many of its Atlantic City guests enjoy traveling to South Florida.

Dougherty added, “We’re thrilled to welcome the expansion and look forward to celebrating with Spirit and the public as launch day approaches.”
