Seven Target stores in New Jersey will be among the first 200 locations nationwide to debut a new retail experience aimed at making it easier for parents to shop for baby-related items.
According to the Minneapolis-based big box chain, it will unveil the Baby Boutique concept this month at its stores in Clifton, East Hanover, Hackettstown, Manahawkin, Princeton, Sewell and Vauxhall. It will also launch online, Target said.
Billed as a “thoughtfully designed, specialty-style shopping experience,” the area includes more than 2,000 curated baby products.
The chain’s newly expanded baby assortment will include a mix of premium brands, exclusives and owned brand favorites across categories such as plush, blankets, feeding, wellness, snacking essentials and clothing.
Additionally, it will feature dedicated spaces where parents can see, touch and compare gear in person before making big investment purchases such as car seats and strollers, the retailer said.
Target is also expanding its free, appointment-based expert service to provide one-on-one expert guidance on choosing the right gear or building a registry. The offering will be available in store or virtually.
The chain is introducing a front-of-department gifting area that brings together seasonal items and ready-to-gift favorites to simplify shopping for baby showers and birthdays, too.
Amanda Nusz is senior vice president of merchandising, essentials and beauty for Target. She said, “Guests trust Target to show up for them during life’s biggest milestones. Our focus is on bringing together products busy families will love at the value they expect, paired with expert guidance and joyful, easy-to-shop spaces that make preparing for a new baby feel both special and practical.”
