Choose NJ’s Q2 highlights include West Coast office, Taipei center

The state’s leading nonprofit business attraction organization is touting a very busy and robust second quarter.

During Q2, Choose New Jersey made significant progress both domestically and internationally in its efforts to pitch the great Garden State.

Several key events defined Q2 for , including:

  • Opening the New Jersey Asia Pacific Center in Taipei, Taiwan, in May. The location will create new opportunities between New Jersey and East Asian businesses, as well as academic institutions, while strengthening economic and cultural relations.
  • Launching its first domestic presence outside of the Garden State in June. Following his elevation, Chief Strategy Officer Tim Crouch leads the New Jersey West Coast Center in Sunnyvale, Calif., which will support companies in the AI, tech and film industries.
  • A redesigned website with key resources for businesses looking to expand or relocate to New Jersey.
  • Released the 2024 New Jersey Life Sciences Report. The analysis highlights the state’s life sciences ecosystem as well as available and developing real estate.
  • Participated in the BIO International Convention in San Diego, the SelectUSA Investment Summit in National Harbor, and the Plug and Play Silico Valley Summit in Sunnyvale.
  • Hosted its first-ever International Week.
  • Participated in the inaugural New Jersey AI Summit.
  • Hosted a Gov. Phil Murphy-led economic mission to California to visit to visit film and technology companies and tout the state’s film incentives and AI strengths.
  • Made key personnel moves, adding Andy Kuhn as director of business development and promoting Ryan Fox to chief of staff.

 

And that momentum has not faded in Q3. Just last week, struck a partnership deal with the New York Jets.

Open for business

In a press release announcing the robust quarter, Choose New Jersey President and CEO Wesley Mathews said the organization is letting the world know that “New Jersey is open for business.”

“The momentum built from our Q2 successes will carry us through the year as we continue to showcase New Jersey as a global player where innovation, education and quality of life intersect – making it the best place to live, work and play,” said Mathews.
