Solar Landscape

Solar Landscape co-founders Keegan and Gross serve as CEO and COO, respectively. The firm is at the forefront of the move toward renewable energy, working in the promising area of community solar – using large arrays to provide power to a range of consumers. Keegan and Gross were also named by EY as Entrepreneur of the Year winners for New Jersey in 2024. They will compete this month for national honors. In October, Walmart said it would invest in 3 million square feet of rooftop community solar projects from Asbury Park-based Solar Landscape.

While no figure was provided for the value of the investment, the announcement from the Bentonville-based retail giant and solar energy company said the 74 projects will create nearly 43 megawatts of capacity for surrounding communities in Maryland and Illinois. According to the partners, that’s enough power to serve more than 3,600 homes. The companies say they plan to explore follow-on investments and opportunities. With commercial rooftop projects currently under construction, the sites expect to energize this year and next, according to the announcement.

Solar Landscape estimates the projects will save subscribers about $1 million annually on energy bills. About half of the portfolio is designed to reduce energy costs for low- and moderate-income households.
