Russo Development

Russo is the second-generation CEO of Russo Development. Under his watch the 50-plus year-old, privately held firm expanded from a primary focus on industrial to encompass such segments as mixed-use developments and data centers. As CEO, Russo oversees all day-to-day operations including land acquisition, design/engineering, entitlements, construction, leasing, finance and property management.

To date, the company has completed more than 60 industrial projects, developed some 7 million square feet of premier commercial space, and delivered more than 5,000 luxury apartment homes in northern New Jersey. During Russo’s tenure, the company has completed more than 2 million square feet of mission-critical space for JP Morgan Chase, NYSE Euronext, Credit Suisse, and Bloomberg and other clients. He also guided the development of built-to-suit industrial facilities for clients like the Pepsi Bottling Group, Macy’s and HD Smith.

The firm’s current projects include Kingsland Meadowlands, an industrial/flex park located minutes from the New Jersey Turnpike and New York City. This site, which has the capability to deliver approximately 3 million square feet of single or multi-tenanted building, recently signed a lease agreement with TJX Cos.— the parent of T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods and Marshalls — for more than 1 million square feet. Another project, Vermella East Brunswick, will be located on the former Sears site on Route 18. The 44-acre mixed-use redevelopment will feature more than 700 for-sale and rental residential units.
