Belvidere-based Edible Garden is kicking off a retail partnership with one of the top-ranked grocery store chains in the U.S.

In a Nov. 4 press release, the hydroponic farming company announced it began shipping its U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) organic herbs product line to The Fresh Market‘s 164 stores across the country.

Founded in 2015, Edible Garden’s locally grown, sustainable lettuce, organic herbs, hydro basil, salad kits, sauces and protein powders are available at more than 5,000 stores, including:

• Walmart
• Whole Foods Market

Founded in 1982, The Fresh Market is known for its curated selection of premium quality fresh food, customer service and in-store experience. Recent recognitions for the award-winning Greensboro, N.C.-based chain include best supermarket by USA Today and best specialty grocer by Newsweek.

Within New Jersey, The Fresh Market has stores in Bedminster and Montvale.

‘Tis the season(ing)

Edible Garden also recently announced that its line of Pulp refrigerated sustainable gourmet sauces is hitting Wakefern-owned ShopRite supermarkets across the Northeast.

In a Nov. 11 announcement, Kras said he was excited to expand Edible Garden’s relationship with Keasbey-headquartered Wakefern Food Corp.

“As a locally based New Jersey company, Edible Garden is especially proud to grow alongside ShopRite, one of our very first customers and a valued partner since our early days. The addition of our clean-label, great-tasting, refrigerated Pulp fermented hot sauces builds on our successful partnership and strengthens our presence within the ShopRite network,” he said.

Edible Garden is also rolling out its popular fresh poultry mix at select Walmart stores.

Kras said, “As families prepare their favorite holiday meals, we’re excited to make our Poultry Mix available at Walmart stores, giving shoppers an easy, convenient, and sustainable way to bring fresh flavor to their holiday celebrations.”
