With Kushner at the lead as president, Jersey City-based KRE Group is having a good year – capped by the completion of Journal Squared’s third and final (60-story) tower last month. The 2.3 million-square-foot mixed-use project comprises 1,840 rental units and 36,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. With its start a decade ago, the project has helped catalyze ongoing investment in Journal Square.

Kushner’s decision to tackle the project, and its literal rise on the skyline, mirrors a similar evolution at KRE Group. Under his guidance, KRE is now recognized for its luxury multifamily offerings in urban areas in addition to gaining notice for its commercial properties and garden-style apartments.

In Bayonne, KRE Group’s Bay 151, like Journal Squared, has helped define a neighborhood. The three-phase development on the waterfront peninsula offers 625 rentals units and 65,000 square feet of in- and outdoor amenity space. Since opening last December, the final phase is nearly 100% leased. KRE owns properties in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Florida. Its multifamily portfolio tops 9,000 apartments – with 7,000 more in various stages of approval and construction. Additionally, KRE Group owns and manages more than 6 million square feet of office, warehouse and retail space.
