Urban Land Institute Northern New Jersey

As executive director, Urban Land Institute Northern New Jersey, Winokur is a seasoned CRE professional with more than 25 years of experience in planning, development and nonprofit management. ULI is the oldest and largest network of cross-disciplinary real estate land use experts in the world, with Northern New Jersey membership at 385 members, up 50% since Winokur took the helm in 2008.

Under her leadership, ULI NNJ is courting the best and the brightest in its volunteer leadership to effectively and efficiently deliver on ULI’s mission of shaping the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide.

The many local accomplishments during her tenure include the expansion of the organization’s UrbanPlan program from 30 students in East Brunswick High School to a combined 110 students in both East Brunswick and East Orange High Schools. This achievement aligns with ULI’s overarching DEI initiative in terms of offering opportunity and exposure to local youth into such fields as urban planning, design, construction, brokerage and environmental planning. It also provides a high impact opportunity for volunteer members that serve as facilitators and/or “City Council” members in this program.
