Wholesome snack maker Our Home is on the move. The Boonton-based maker of Popchips and other brands has been on an acquisition spree this year, announcing several deals to juice growth.

In January, the company agreed to acquire two brands – R.W. Garcia and Good Health – and three manufacturing plants from snack producer Utz Brands Inc. for $182.5 million. R.W. Garcia makes tortilla chips, corn chips and gluten-free crackers; Good Health makes pretzels, vegetable chips and other products.

“These acquisitions will diversify Our Home brands across a variety of salty snack categories, reinforcing our position as a leading independent better-for-you snacking platform,” said Aaron Greenwald, founder and CEO of Our Home, at the time of the deal.

In April, Our Home announced plans to purchase two Utz-owned production plants in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts for $18.5 million. Terms include a transition services agreement under which Our Home will co-manufacture certain Utz products for up to a year.

The following month, Our Home said it would purchase cheese snack producer Sonoma Creamery, along with a factory and warehouse. “This acquisition expands Our Home into the cheese snack category, reinforcing our position as a leading independent better-for-you snacking platform,” Greenwald said.

And to top it all off, Popchips was slated to become a movie star with a role in “The Garfield Movie.” In a trailer for the film, the eponymous cartoon cat lounges and noshes on nacho flavored Popchips. The snacks are gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan and have 50% less fat than fried chips. The collaboration also includes a limited-edition Garfield Popchips bag. The product is available at select retail locations of Walmart, Aldi, Sprouts, Stop & Shop, Hy-Vee, Giant Eagle, Cub Foods, Festival Foods, Fresh Thyme and Redner’s.
