Unilever is home to beloved brands including Hellman’s mayonnaise, Ben & Jerry’s, Dove, Seventh Generation and others, which are sold in nearly 200 countries around the world. In the states – its largest market – the U.K.-based company calls New Jersey home.

While the consumer goods giant completed an overhaul of its Englewood Cliffs base in 2018, this summer news broke the Fortune 500 company would seek a more downtown atmosphere. Unilever will move to the Waterfront Corporate Campus in Hoboken in March, while its R&D teams will continue to have a presence at the company’s current Garden State location.

“We are proud to continue working and contributing to the state economy of New Jersey, with a presence in both cities,” a spokesperson for Unilever told NJBIZ at the time.

Looking ahead, the more-than-a-century old company wants to build something that lasts even longer. Unilever lays out its purpose as making sustainable living commonplace when it comes to future-facing strategy and plans for growth.

With 400 brands, Unilever operates across five Business Groups: Beauty & Wellbeing, Personal Care, Home Care, Nutrition and Ice Cream, the last of which it announced plans to spin off in March. In October, the company reported positive growth and improved volume growth across all channels for the fourth consecutive quarter.

Unilever brands are also enjoying a new kind of visibility. Recently, Herrish Patel, president of Unilever USA and CEO of Unilever’s Personal Care business in North America, detailed the impact of partnering with the sports world to boost its marketing efforts. “With viewing figures soaring, there’s everything to play for,” he wrote.
